“Oh you’re a Travel Agent, I bet all you do is travel all the time.” Okay Sheila, calm down with your misconceptions on working in travel and get yourself a quick reality check.
Being a Travel Agent isn’t travelling 360 out of 365 days of the year, nor is it living the high life in Business Class, sleeping in 5-star hotels and receiving royal treatment every time you land in a foreign country.
Erm, so maybe the Business and 5-star resort thing happens SOMETIMES, but rarely ever!
In fact, Travel Agents are almost always doing the complete opposite of travelling as the job requires them to be office-bound 24/7 in order to assist others with their holidays.
When consultants DO manage to escape the day-to-day, their ‘trips’ or better referred to as ‘educationals’ are exactly that, educational experiences during which they’re having fun yet STILL working.
In order to shatter some of these pre-conceived ideas, we stalked a whole bunch of consultants around the world on social media to find 11 photos that perfectly sum up what it’s actually like to be a Travel Agent:
1. Most days start like this…
2. And end like this…
3. Being cooped up in the office all day can make them a little delusional
4. So they’re always looking for little things to keep them sane…

5. When they’re out of the office, they’re more than likely visiting clients…
6. Or checking out new products they can sell to their clients…
7. This is what it looks like when they are ‘travelling’…
8. And this…
9. And when they manage to get some time off, they’re trying to change the world…
10. Or trying to catch up on deadlines…
11. But despite the hard work, they’re always smiling because your Travel Agent loves building you your dream itinerary…
