We’ve announced many new travel agent TV shows lately, and pretty much all of them have just been jokes. But today’s different**, and KarryOn actually have some exciting news to share with ya’ll…

In an announcement that’s guaranteed to stoke the competitive flames of pretty much every single travel agent around the country, Fox8 is about to start filming Australia’s Next Top Travel Agent.

Scheduled to hit Foxtel in April 2018, the new reality TV show will be loosely based on the hit series Australia’s Next Top Model and feature a bunch of Aussie travel agents living together in an as yet undisclosed inner-city house whilst attending workshops, competing in challenges, and meeting key industry figures, all whilst still looking after their regular clients (via email, phone calls and occasional store visits).

Throughout the show, each travel agent will be judged and critiqued on their ability to keep up on the drinking front as well as their performance during a bunch of challenges, some of which include Beat this Price Beat, Name This IATA Code and a RTW Itinerary Time Trial. Fail to impress the judges or come last in any of these challenges, and that travel agent will be sent home packing.

Come out a winner or impress the judges, however, and that travel agent will stay in the show, take home weekly prizes (including holidays and Coles Myer gift cards) and even get the chance to spend a weekend away with “The Captain” on a tropical private island.

Speaking of the judges, we weren’t able to ascertain who will sit on the judging panel on this new series. Names floating around on Reddit however include Skroo Turner, Wendy Wu and Joe Ponte from Topdeck Travel.
