1. Roberto Martinoli is appointed Chief Executive of Silversea Cruises

Silversea has announced the appointment of Roberto Martinoli as Chief Executive, effective from September 19th.

Martinoli, Board Member of Silversea since 2013, becomes CEO after an extensive, and successful career in the cruise and shipping industry.

“Roberto is a dedicated professional with a long track record of driving great companies to even higher heights,” said Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, Executive Chairman of Silversea Cruises.

“I am certain that he will be instrumental in pushing Silversea Cruises to consistently deliver unrivalled levels of luxury, service and business performance.”

Based in the company’s headquarters in Monaco, he will report directly to Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, Executive Chairman of Silversea Cruises.

Martinoli replaces Enzo Visone as CEO.

 

2. Uniworld appoints new Head of Sales

Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection has announced the appointment of Beanca Daluz as Head of Sales.

Daluz joins Uniworld with over 14 years of experience in the travel industry, most recently with Garuda Orient Holidays where she was responsible for the company’s restructure in Sales, Marketing and Product. Prior to Garuda Orient Holidays, Daluz worked for a range of quality airlines including Cathay Pacific and China Southern Airlines.

Heading a sales team of five Sales Managers around the country and reporting to Uniworld Managing Director Fiona Dalton, Daluz will oversee the company’s sales approach while developing new and strengthening existing relationships with the Australian travel agent community.

Fiona Dalton, Managing Director at Uniworld, said: “Beanca’s exceptional wealth of industry knowledge and experience, along with her strong network of contacts in the retail travel industry, will help us to build on our trade engagement,  provide leadership for our Sales Managers , and ultimately support us to expand our business and achieve our goals.”

3. American Express Global Business Travel names  Philippe Chérèque as President

American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) has named Philippe Chérèque as President, effective immediately.

In this newly created position, Philippe will continue to oversee the Commercial and Product Technology organisations, which he has successfully led the past two years, and will also assume responsibility for Supplier Relations,  Marketing, and Consulting.

“Philippe’s new role is part of our larger strategic imperative to restructure our commercial group into regional teams in an effort to better serve our customers,” said Doug Anderson, Chief Executive Officer, American Express Global Business Travel.

“We are confident that this structure, under Philippe’s proven guidance, will foster a closer working relationship with our customers offering global reach and local expertise. Philippe’s expanded role solidifies our focus on growth and further sets us up to provide the best solutions and technologies, not only for customers and their travellers, but also for supplier partners.”

Additionally, with respect to the structure of GBT’s regional sales efforts, Elyes Mrad and David Reimer will continue to lead sales in both the EMEA and APAC regions, respectively, while Philippe will lead sales efforts in the Americas on an interim basis.
