1. Delta flies Helloworld consultants to West Hollywood

Helloworld travel specialists got to experience the hippest and trendy rooftop bars in this leafy understated suburb of West Hollywood located within easy reach of Sunset Boulevard on a recent famil hosted by Delta Air Lines and Gate 7.

Staying at Le Parc Hotel for four nights, the group had access to The London Hotel which backs onto the Viper Room and Whisky a Go Go bar across the way, The Mondrian with it’s cool rooftop pool and bar that converts to a dance floor during Halloween and let’s not forget the historical element to WEHO.

Down the road you will find the V Wine Room once Charlie Chaplins studio serving local wines and produce usually only reserved for the boutique wine makers, the group had the opportunity to do some wine and cheese tasting.

Delta Air Lines, also hosted the lucky guests at The Staple Centre where they got the chance to inspect the Lakers Locker room.

 

2. Consultants get a taste of Northern Cali

Visit California hosted 11 Agents (and two hosts) in Northern California last week as part of Adventure World’s USA brochure launch activity.

The itinerary for the famil was an abbreviated version of Adventure World’s ‘Icons of California’ tour, visiting San Francisco, Napa Valley and Lake Tahoe.

Agents were incentivised to sell Adventure World product in order to earn their way onto the famil where they enjoyed a food walking tour of the Ferry Building in San Francisco, a hot air balloon ride in Napa Valley, fishing on stunning Lake Tahoe and more.

 

3. Qantas Holidays takes Magellan Agents to Tropical North Queensland

Qantas Holidays recently hosted a dedicated Magellan Famil to TNQ with the group visiting Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures, meeting a little furry friend – ‘MJ’ the Koala.

The group was also lucky enough to experience many of the TNQ Luxury highlights from Fitzroy Island to Thala Beach Nature Reserve, with everyone in attendance displaying plenty of smiles throughout the famil.

 

4. Las Vegas shows Aussie Agents why it’s the ‘entertainment capital of the world’

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), Delta Air Lines and Virgin Australia recently hosted nine Australian agents and PCOs for four action-packed nights in Las Vegas to showcase the exciting offerings available throughout the city for groups.

Staying in style at MGM Grand and Aria Las Vegas, attendees got the full VIP experience with a backstage meet and greet at both Mystère by Cirque du Soleil and Blue Man Group, took in the Las Vegas Strip at night via helicopter, sampled delicious dishes on a walking food tour, ziplined over Bootleg Canyon and got down and dirty at Dig This Las Vegas.

Their extensive knowledge, excellent and personalised customer service makes them a standout.

6. Helloworld Travel & Qantas Holidays support the Humpty Dumpty Foundation

Helloworld Travel Limited contributed to the Humpty Dumpty Foundation by taking part in the annual Balmoral Burn event last month. The support of the event is building on the long standing partnership The AOT Group has had with the Foundation that now continues under the Helloworld Travel brand.

Helloworld Travel and Qantas Holidays entered two corporate teams to complete in the “Burn” up Awaba Street in Balmoral, one of the steepest streets in New South Wales. Helloworld Travel staff and their families also participated in other various events and activities on the day.

The event took place on Sunday 28th May 2017 and raised over $2 million dollars for much needed lifesaving medical equipment for children’s wards across many Australian hospitals.

7. Hola from Excite Holidays & Los Cabos

Excite Holidays recently treated its Brisbane-based Agents to a Mexican-themed breakfast at Watt Riverside Restaurant and Bar.

In collaboration with Los Cabos Tourism, the event was designed to showcase and educate Agents on all that this Mexican hotspot has to offer, including the fact that Los Cabos is only a two and half hour flight from Los Angeles, and is the perfect stopover or standalone destination. Agents were also given the chance to win some fantastic prizes.

Starting their morning off the right way. consultants were treated to a fancy welcome cocktail, Mexican hot chocolate and a delectable spread that included baked goods such as muffins and danishes, before sitting down to indulge in a Pico de Gallo Burrito, a traditional Mexican breakfast. They also met the Managing Director of Los Cabos Tourism, Rodrigo Esponda, who came straight off the plane from Mexico to offer his expertise and passion for this incredible destination.

 

8. Titlis-Engelberg debut at Snow Travel Expo 2017

Australian snow enthusiasts were recently introduced to the resort of Titlis-Engelberg in Switzerland as a winter destination.

Participating at the Snow Travel Expo for the very first time this year, Titlis-Engelberg representative, Peter Niederberger, was pleased to report that the region received much interest from attendees over the two weekends in Sydney and Melbourne. Compared to many other parts of Switzerland, Titlis-Engelberg hadn’t been the traditional go-to destination for Aussie skiers; and as a relatively small village, the interest pouring in was encouraging.

Accompanied by Switzerland Tourism’s Marketing Executive, Birgit Weingartner, they shared with snow enthusiasts the many highlights of the region. Top among them included the facts that Titlis-Engelberg is not only home to the largest freeride area in the country, but also Europe’s highest suspension bridge and the world’s first revolving gondola. Its longest ski run stretches 12 km, the glacier stands at a towering 3000m above sea level and its steepest vertical drop is 2000m. The village of Engelberg sits at 1,050m and is only a 45 min train ride away from the historical city of Lucerne. A monastery, cheesemaker and a host of accommodation options are also very much part of the attraction.

 

9. Helloworld Business Travel hear from Carlton Football Club’s elite leaders

Helloworld Business Travel recently joined Carlton’s business elite for the third Carlton IN Business event for 2017.

Senior coach of the Carlton Football Club Brendon Bolton and CEO Steven Trigg addressed the audience on leadership, values, teamwork and the financial challenges and achievements for the Club over the past year.

Bayview Travel Director – Chris McGetrick and 1000 Mile Travel Director of Partnerships – Alex Stewart joined Helloworld Business Travel Business Manager Steve Hona at the event which provided an opportunity for agents to engage and connect with prominent Australian businesses.

 

10. Van-tastic Infinity famil to Vanuatu

In May, Vanuatu Tourism Office Australia co-hosted a five night trip to the main island of Efate and capital Port Vila with Infinity Holidays taking 10 Flight Centre Group consultants from Victoria.

The group, also supported by Air Vanuatu, stayed at Warwick Le Lagon; Iririki Island Resort and Spa; and Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu.

The group enjoyed activities including horse riding with Club Hippique, ziplining through the jungle with Vanuatu Jungle Zipline and swimming in the pools at the Mele Cascades. They were also treated to hosted meals at Breakas Beach Resort; The Beach Bar and Restaurant; and Mangoes Resort Restaurant and Bar.
