The Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) has turned to consumers to help answer a highly-debatable question; which of Australia’s travel agencies are the best?
Some 8,000 public votes were submitted to the Federation as part of The People’s Choice Campaign in this year’s National Travel Industry Awards (NTIAs).
Although traditionally NTIA winners are voted and selected by the industry, AFTA decided to give travellers a soap box this year, with which they could name their favourite retail agencies.
The ‘People’s Choice’ campaign was promoted through two print publications and encouraged consumers to submit their votes either online or through printed survey forms.
APT helped entice members of the public to have their say by giving those that voted the chance to win an eight-day Vietnam and Cambodia Mekong River Cruise.
So, 8,000 votes later and AFTA finally knows, which of Australia’s travel agencies people absolutely love. And they are…

One of these agencies will be named ‘ATAS Retail Travel Agency of the Year’ on 22 July at this year’s NTIA Gala Dinner.
