1. SPOTTED PTMs rolling through the Canadian Rockies

Rocky Mountaineer

One of the great perks of working in the travel industry is the opportunity to indulge in the love of travel.  A recent Canada mega-famil gave five of TravelManagers’ personal travel managers (PTMs) the opportunity to do just this, as part of a group that experienced one of the world’s great rail journeys: the Rocky Mountaineer.

Kim Mason, representative for Cronulla in New South Wales was one of the PTMs that embarked on the six-night itinerary that began in Vancouver and concluded in Calgary, with stops in Kamloops, Jasper, Banff and Lake Louise along the way.

“Our last full day was one of the best days on the entire famil: an eight-minute gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain, overlooking the town of Banff and the surrounding mountains, followed by a flightseeing helicopter tour.  You could see for miles and the scenery was incredible,” she says.

Mason believes she will now has a clearer understanding of the different product offerings with the Rocky Mountaineer Experience, which she says will make it easier for her to match the right client with the right options.

“We had incredibly full, busy days but it was great to experience this iconic journey for myself.  I was really surprised by the quality of the food and service on board the train and I am very much looking forward to sharing my experiences with my clients.”

2. SPOTTED cruising on a Princess

Princesss Cruises

Princess Cruises recently hosted a group famil for 20 lucky and enthusiastic travel agents from Australia. The group sailed from Xiamen, China to Taipei, Taiwan, visiting Hong Kong.

The group dined at Michelin Star Chef Richard Chen’s Harmony Restaurant onboard and experienced some stunning Asian cuisine. Whilst in Hong Kong the group visited the floating markets, Nathan Road, Lang Kwai Fong and Lantau Island — immersing themselves in all the vibrancy Hong Kong has to offer.

With Majestic Princess soon to call Sydney home in September 2018, the famil gave this group of travel agents a taste of Princess’ newest flagship.
