Making it into the history books at a large organisation such as the Flight Centre Travel Group is tough, but one agency group out in the Sunshine Coast managed to do it not once, but twice.
Over the weekend, Playford Travel became the first franchisee for Flight Centre Travel Group’s (FLT) premium Travel Associates brand, 12 years after becoming the first franchisee for FLT’s Escape Travel.

The announcement to rebrand Playford Travel from Escape Travel to Travel Associates comes after FLT confirmed the dissolution of Escape Travel, My Adventure Travel and Cruiseabout in February this year.
Husband-and-wife owners, Neil and Therese Playford, said they were excited to enter a new contract and extend their relationship with the group.
“This enables us to continue to provide premium service and experience to our clients while delivering a variety of excellent products.”

FLT Franchise Manager, Steve Paterson, said the group is delighted to have the Playfords re-contract with Travel Associates and “create a little piece of history”.
“The Playford Travel stores will be strong additions to the nationwide Travel Associates network, which now includes more than 100 stores throughout the country,” he said.
