1. SPOTTED… teeing-off in Sydney

Globus Family of Brands

Globus family of brands gathered industry friends and partners for its coveted annual Golf Day, hosted at Pymble Golf Club in St Ives last month.

The event attracted 114 keen golfers including media personality Doborah Hutton, Fox Sports commentator Greg Clark and renowned cricketer Ian Healy.

Twenty-nine teams took to the green in an Elimination Ambrose shotgun start, with Matthew Hickey, from Helloworld Katoomba, taking out the title for the fifth year, alongside teammates John Ford, Peter Valabek and Vladimir Dzupinka.

2. SPOTTED… boating, training & subwaying in Switzerland

A group of 12 Travel Agents were given the chance to really get to know Switzerland on a recent Swiss Tourism famil.

After seven days of nonstop exploring from Zurich down to the French Boarder, to JungFrauJoch – The Top of Europe to Lake Lucerne & beyond, the group got the insight into Switzerland with it’s precise ‘to the minute’ schedules, Amazing chocolate, mouth-watering cheeses & delightful regional wines.

Switzerland put on the amazing weather with sunshine filled days and even displayed snow falling on the top of Mt Titlis. Sunset over the French Alps from Montreaux and almost every mode of transport possible – boats, trains, trams, cable cars, cogwheel trains, subways. The Group Leader, Mark Wettstein even had a moment in the Charlie Chaplin Barbershop.

3. SPOTTED… talking luxury & experiential travel

TravelManagers

With a commitment to personal development and training highly evident, TravelManagers recently combined corporate training with a luxury and experiential focused workshop with the view to further equip its PTMs to benefit from the current increase in bleisure travel.

Ensemble Travel Group, TravelManagers’ North American-based partner supplier with a wide portfolio of global luxury and experiential travel products including adventure activities and customised cultural vacations, was invited to jointly conduct PTM workshops across Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane.

“A consequence of being a part of an enhanced global presence, our PTMs now have access to an increased range of luxury resorts villas and apartments, hosted cruise options, on-location destination management companies and unique specialty programmes around the world. We have the opportunity to leverage benefits achieved through higher sales volumes so it’s a real win-win for clients and PTMs,” says Michael Gazal, TravelManagers’ Executive General Manager.

With such overwhelming positive feedback from the inaugural workshops, TravelManagers is already in conversations with plans for further Ensemble workshops in 2018.

4. SPOTTED… receiving recognition

My Travel Group

My Travel Group (MTG), Australia’s largest independent network with 770 Agents, recently hosted events around the country to recognise and reward their top performing Agents.

Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth have hosted events with MTG members coming together to network and celebrate the performance of the group.

In mid-October the top 20 MTG agents will be heading to Queenstown, NZ for a few days of celebration, networking and reward with highlights of the event being a trip to Dart River Wilderness, Walter Peak, Botswana Butchery and Gantleys Restaurant.

Hosted in Singapore last year the MTG Winners Circle is a valuable rewards program for the My Travel Group members.

David Padman, Head of Associate, Corporate and Affiliate Networks at Helloworld Travel congratulated the MTG members who have been in attendance at the State based events.

5. SPOTTED… exploring the world

itravelLos Angeles Beverly Hills

itravel Agents spent last month in various corners of the world with three famil trips across the network.

Agents have travelled to West Hollywood and San Diego in the USA, Xi’an and Zhangjiajie in China and have cruised the rivers of Cambodia and Vietnam to experience the best of both countries.

Exploring the sights of West Hollywood like locals, itravel agents stayed at the Ramada Plaza – right in the centre of the L.A. action. The group visited Universal Studios, shopped until they dropped at the Citadel Outlets with VIP passes, Dined with The Orcas at Sea World, visited the San Diego Zoo and so much more.

In China, itravel Agents explored the ancient city of Xi’an where they visited the Terracotta Warriors. The group also met Wendy Wu at the reception for Australian Tourists and braved the heights of Tianmen Mountain in the Zhangjijie National Park. Amazing sights were seen on the 30 minute cable car ride, down the Bailong Elevator and some descended the 999 steps of the Stairway to Heaven. During the trip, the group were welcomed and met the mayors and tourism representatives of the cities.

Several itravel Agents meanwhile experienced cruising down the Mekong River onboard CroisiEurope Cruises’ RV Indochine II. A first class ship, the RV Indochine II provided many highlights for the Agents, including its sundeck and pool area, making it the first river cruise ship with this facility to cruise the Mekong. The Agents explored the sights of Phnom Penh including the Royal Palace, various temples, the National Museum, Genocide Museum and the local markets. In Vietnam, the agents did a half day sightseeing tour of Ho Chi Minh City before the close of their trip.
