Queensland’s capital, Brisbane, received its first direct connection to China’s capital, Beijing, thanks to new services launched by Air China this week.
Air China’s four-times weekly service is a huge win for Brisbane tourism, as it gives some 21.5 million people living in Beijing non-stop access to the Australian city.
Tourism and Events Queensland’s Chief Executive, Leanne Coddington, is thrilled about the new service, saying she expects it to deliver around 170,000 Chinese tourists to the city over the next four years.

All flights will be operated on the airline’s A330-200 aircraft and will conveniently connect Chinese tourists to the city along with other Queensland hot spots such as the Gold Coast and Whitsundays.
