The world’s largest travel site, TripAdvisor, has tallied up the votes and the winner of Australia’s favourite airline is… DRUM ROLL… Qantas Airways.

The airline won the title as part of TripAdvisor’s annual Travellers’ Choice awards, which collects votes for travel’s favourite products and companies.
While Virgin Australia may be Australia’s favourite place to work, Qantas managed to beat out its rival for Favourite Domestic Airline and Favourite International Airline.

And if that wasn’t enough of a win for the Flying Kangaroo this week, Roy Morgan Research also found Qantas is leading in Customer Satisfaction, with 87 percent in its domestic category – eight percent ahead of Virgin.
The Customer Satisfaction research saw Qantas score especially well with its younger passengers: 91 percent of Generation Z and 89 percent of Generation Y were satisfied with their experience flying with the airline.
While male passengers (86 percent) are more likely than female (80 percent) to be satisfied with the business travel experience on Qantas, the reverse is true for Virgin (91 percent of women VS 66 percent of men).

Meanwhile, TripAdvisor’s annual awards also found Samsonite a favourite for carry-on luggage and check-in luggage; Mount Franklin as Australia’s favourite bottled water; Apple makes our favourite headphones; and Ray-Ban sells our favourite sunglasses.
When it comes to downloading music iTune is a favourite and everyone’s favourite travel magazine is Lonely Planet.
Australians are likely to be seen taking tourist pics using a Canon, as the brand wins the title of Favourite Compact Digital Camera.
