In a ‘major milestone’ for Fiji Airways, the Fijian carrier has expanded its current partnership with Alaska Airlines by inking a new codeshare agreement which goes live next week.

This will see Fiji Airways and Alaska Airlines codeshare on flights from San Francisco to Seattle and Portland.

The codeshare flights will be available for sale from next Monday.

It’s not the fist tie up between the two airlines, as an existing program sees frequent flyer members of Alaska Airlines’ Mileage Plan program earn and redeem miles for travel on FJ flight numbers.

Andre Viljoen, Fiji Airways’ managing director and CEO.

“We will now also be able to attract Seattle and Portland residents to our home – Fiji – which is one of the world’s most sought-after tourist destinations, as well as the South Pacific,” Viljoen said.
