Cashed-up Aussies are getting in line to fly like Nicole Kidman, as Etihad prepares to debut its new ‘Residence‘ product on services to Australia.

The Gulf carrier has revealed it has landed its first Australian customer for the new class, which is scheduled to start flying to Sydney from tonight.

The announcement comes less than three months after Etihad recruited Aussie actress, Nicole Kidman to promote the ‘reimagined’ product through a series of images and videos. Read on

An Etihad spokesperson confirmed that an unidentified customer has forked out around $27,550 for the private residency at 35,000 feet, News.com.au reported.

For almost 30 grand, the customer will have exclusive access to around 125-square feet in the jumbo A380 aircraft.

The Residence 2

Split into the three-rooms, the travellers receives his or her own private living room, separate en-suite shower rooms, bedroom with a double bed, and a dedicated Savoy Academy trained Butler to look after the needs of its discerning guests.

The revolutionary cabin also comes with a large 32” LCD monitor in the living room and a 24” version in the bedroom.

Located on the forward upper deck of the A380, The Residence by Etihad is available for single or double occupancy.

In addition to The Residence, the A380, which will fly 11 times weekly between Sydney and Abu Dhabi, features nine First Class suites, 70 Business Stuios and 415 Economy seats.
