Four days and some 250 litres of paint later, the first ever Qantas Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner emerged from the paint shop last night looking mighty fine and ready to fly in the airline’s updated livery.

Although the aircraft may be the 615th Dreamliner to roll out of Boeing’s Seattle shop, it sets itself apart by being the first equipped with ultra-long haul comfort features as well as the carrier’s new Flying Kangaroo colours.

The livery, nicknamed by plane spotters as ‘Silveroo’, includes the newly styled ‘Qantas’ logo on the side of the aircraft, ‘Qantas’ painted to the belly and a silver band on the rear of the aircraft along with the new-look Kangaroo on the tail with shading giving it a sense of movement.
