Frustrating news for Aussies stuck in Bali over the weekend following the closure of Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali due to volcanic ash cloud in the area.

Unfortunately, the bad news doesn’t end today as Mt Rinjani continues to erupt, spewing ash cloud into the sky which doesn’t show any signs of clearing away from Denpasar Airport for at least the next day or so.

As a result of the volcanic activity, several AirAsia flights were either cancelled, diverted or rescheduled. Guests are advised to check their email and phones for the latest status updates.

Both Virgin Australia and Jetstar have also cancelled all flights to and from Bali for today and tomorrow.

Guests are advised to check their emails and phones for the latest flight updates or to check the airline’s social media channels. Alternatively, guests should call their airlines for more information.

Airlines are offering a number of compensatory measures to affected passengers and guests are advised to contact their respective airlines for their options. It is unclear when exacty flights will resume.
