Wi-Fi, a Wander Wall, less sound and stylish seats – everything you’d expect to see in a new Virgin Atlantic aircraft is what you get in the airline’s 787.

And now Australians have the chance to experience the Virgin Atlantic Dreamliner closer to home.

Earlier this week, the airline launched the aircraft on direct services between London Heathrow – Hong Kong.

Head of Asia Pacific, Stephen King said this decision sees the airline ‘set the bar higher’ in Hong Kong with a ‘revolutionary aircraft and new technology’ that performs ‘more efficiently than any other aircraft of its size’.

Radically improved fuel efficiency means it is 21 percent more efficient on a per flight basis than the equivalent sized aircraft in Virgin’s fleet, allowing it to be a major driver of both the airline’s return to profitability and its commitment to improve carbon efficiency by 30 percent before 2020.

It also has a 60 percent smaller noise footprint than aircraft of a comparable size.
