Travellers flying around Australia with Jetstar may want to remember to pay for their checked baggage while booking, otherwise risk paying a slightly higher fee.

A Spokesperson for the low-cost carrier told KarryOn in an email that the airline is rolling out new baggage fees today, that will see some travellers paying more while others pay less.

Let’s start with the good news.

The carrier is reducing its fees for last minute checked baggage on international and trans-Tasman flights.

YAY!

However, if you forget to pre-purchase your checked baggage for domestic travel, you’ll be forced to pay a $60 fee, which is slightly up from the former $50.

The $60 fee covers checked luggage weighing under 15kg, anything higher will incur $15 extra per kilo, according to Escape.

Pack smart guys!

The Jetstar Spokesperson told KarryOn that the fee increase won’t affect many of the carrier’s guests as “the majority tend to pre-book baggage”.
