Oman Air teams up with Garuda

Oman Air and Garuda Indonesia have entered a new codeshare agreement to offer more choice and convenience for customers of both airlines.

Oman Air and Garuda Indonesia have entered a new codeshare agreement to offer more choice and convenience for customers of both airlines.

The agreement will enable Oman Air’s customers to book flights, operated by Garuda Indonesia, between Jakarta and Bali, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok.

In turn, Garuda Indonesia’s customers will be able to book flights, operated by Oman Air, between Muscat and Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta or Salalah.

Announcing the new agreement, Abdulrahaman Al-Busaidy, Chief Operating Officer of Oman Air, said Garuda was selected because it shares the same commitment to quality of service and hospitality.

“Since the launch at the end of last year of Oman Air’s new service from Muscat to Jakarta, we have been delighted with our customers’ response and the new codeshare will enable them to travel further afield without booking with multiple airlines.”

Garuda Indonesia Commercial Director, Handayani welcomed the new codeshare service with Oman Air, saying it will not only expand the airline’s network, but help bring the world to Indonesia.

Oman Air is currently engaged in an ambitious fleet and network expansion programme which will see the number of aircraft it operates increase to 50 by 2018, and to 70 by 2020.

In addition it is launching new services to a range of exciting destinations, increasing frequencies on many of its established routes and improving connections at Muscat International Airport.

The carrier launched new services to Jakarta and Manila in December 2014, and has just opened up new routes to Singapore and Goa.
