Politician wants AirAsia to change crew uniforms because they can "arouse passengers"

A Malaysian politician is blaming airline uniforms for the potential “arousal” of passengers, by saying that they’re too “revealing” and “body-hugging”.

Instead of advising flyers to learn to control their own hormones, Malaysia’s Senator wants AirAsia and Malindo Air to change their staff uniforms.

Speaking in Parliament, Datuk Abdullah Mat Yasim described the two airlines’ female uniforms as “eye-catching” and capable of arousing flyers, particularly young people, The New Straits Times reported.

He continued, saying the way female cabin crew dress is “too revealing” and urged the Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM) to “really look into this” because it is creating issues for him at home.

“My wife is worried whenever I fly alone on Malindo or AirAsia.”

“This is a real hassle for me.”

Apparently he threw that last comment in as joke…

Seems as though Mr Abdullah, Senator Datuk Megat Zulkarnian Omardin and Senator Datuk Hanafi Mamat (who are working together to change uniforms so they’re compliant with Sharia law) would feel more comfortable if female flight attendants wore potato sacks.

The threesome believe tourists flying with the two airlines will get the wrong impression of Malaysia if flight attendants continue to dress” sexily and disrespectfully”.

Not sure what impression they think people get from those gorgeous red uniforms, but we think they make the Southeast Asian country more attractive as a tourist destination by showcasing its creativity, fun and colourful side.
