According to reports, travellers may be able to secure seats on the highly anticipated non-stop Perth-London service shortly after ANZAC Day.

The official unveiling of fares is expected to be made via Qantas and PerthNow.

Although there’s still no word as to which days the 17-hour service will fly or how much travellers can expect to pay, the Flying Kangaroo has promised to keep prices “competitive with the market”.

Meanwhile, anticipation is also building for the unveiling of the carrier’s 236 seater Boeing 787-9, which will be specially built for the long route.

On board, guests will be able to choose from 42 Business Class suites, 28 Premium Economy seats and 166 Economy seats.

Business has been nicknamed the ‘mini First Class’ with a 1-2-1 layout, fully flat beds and direct aisle access.

Premium Economy will “set a new industry standard” with a 2-3-2 configuration whereby the middle seat is around five centimeters wider, PerthNow reported. And in Economy, passengers will sit in a 3-3-3 configuration.

The carrier’s Chief Executive, Alan Joyce, stressed late last year that the aim was to make flying as comfortable as possible for passengers.

The first Qantas Perth-London service is expected to take off on 26 March 2018.
