Qantas 'would love' to fly direct to Brazil & Cape Town

Quão incrível! Partying in Rio de Janeiro during Carnaval may one day be as easy as travelling to Los Angeles, Singapore or even Hong Kong, if Qantas' super long haul dreams become a reality.

Quão incrível! Partying in Rio de Janeiro during Carnaval may one day be as easy as travelling to Los Angeles, Singapore or even Hong Kong, if Qantas’ super long haul dreams become a reality.

Which BTW, we’re totally betting they do.

Speaking to media in Seattle ahead of the debut of the airline’s first Dreamliner 787-9, Qantas’ Chief Executive Alan Joyce said he’s challenged aircraft manufactures to engineer ‘dream’ technology that’ll allow the carrier to fly further and longer.

And apparently, they’re pretty close to doing so.

Joyce said these super long-haul aircraft would take the Flying Kangaroo’s guests on non-stop trips to places they “could have only imagined”, The Australian reported.

These could include non-stop flights to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil ???? (say farewell to stopovers in Chile) AND direct services to Cape Town in South Africa ????.

“We’d love to be able to fly direct to Brazil… and we’d love to able to fly direct into Cape Town.”

Qantas 787

Should Qantas one day offer direct services to the Portuguese party city, the service would compliment Brazil Tourism’s e-visa process, which is expected to launch in Australia next month.

Meanwhile, in the weeks leading up to the launch of Qantas’ first 787 (taking off in 24 hours!), the airline has revealed plans to utilise the aircraft to destinations beyond London such as New York, Seattle and Chicago.
