Singapore Airlines is sending its A380 back to Melbourne later this year, to add extra capacity on flights to Singapore over the holiday season.

Singapore Airlines is sending its A380 back to Melbourne later this year, to add extra capacity on flights to Singapore over the holiday season.

On 30 October, the airline will send its 379-seater A380 to operate on daily SQ217/218 flights. The aircraft will offer travellers access to 12 suites, 86 Business Class seats, 36 Premium Economy seats and 245 spots in Economy.

The plane will then switch over to the 441-seater A380, which will operate on the Melbourne-Singapore route until 15 January 2017. This version of the aircraft has greater capacity in all cabins, including Premium Economy.

Singapore Airlines Regional Vice President Mr Tan Tiow Kor, welcomed the A380’s planned return to Melbourne, saying it will ensure the carrier is meeting the expectations of the growing Victorian market.
