Original: Just when it looked like the ‘Tiger-mare’ might be over, travellers were woken last night to text messages advising them that flights to and from Bali have been cancelled, again.

The cancellations come on the day Tigerair was scheduled to resume flights to Bali after a three-week suspension caused by a last minute change in administrative rules in Indonesia.

The carrier said it is experiencing “issues” in gaining final procedural approval from Indonesian authorities to fly to the popular destination and as a result has been forced to cancel all six flights between Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide and Denpasar scheduled to depart today.

Although so far the suspension only seems to have affected flights on 3 February, the carrier said in an online statement that the suspension could be extended to tomorrow and beyond.

All customers affected by today’s cancellations were notified last night and the carrier is offering full refunds to those flying from Australia to Bali. Those scheduled to return from Bali to Australia will be re-accommodated on flights operated by Virgin Australia and other carriers.

“Tigerair Australia sincerely apologises to affected customers for the inconvenience that this situation has caused and continues to work hard to minimize the inconvenience for all affected customers.”
