Princess Cruises announced today it will send 3,082-passenger Emerald Princess to Australia to cruise out of Sydney during the 2016/17-wave season.

The 113,000-tonne superliner will arrive in November next year where she become one of five other Australia-based Princess vessels.

During her five-month visit she will cruise on a number of itineraries from Sydney to New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific.

Further itinerary details will be released in March this year.

As well as destination stops, guests will also be able to enjoy the vessel, which is one of Princess’ largest ships.

Emerald Princess has more than 1,500 guest rooms and boasts a raft of features such as 13 dining options, eight showrooms and lounges, two nightclubs and four swimming pools as well as signature Princess offerings such as a child-free Sanctuary, the poolside Movies Under the Stars and the luxurious Lotus Spa.

She is also one of the youngest Princess ships to be deployed in Australia and New Zealand.

Princess Cruises’ Stuart Allison said expanding the cruise line’s fleet Down Under reflects the growing trend of cruising amongst Australians and their continued love affair with Princess.

“Since Princess first based a ship here for the summer in 2002 we have been embraced by Australians who love our exciting itineraries and destinations as well as the quality cruise experience we provide, so we’re thrilled to be expanding further.”

Mr Allison said all ships will offer AUD pricing onboard as they deliver a full program of cruises from Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Fremantle and Auckland over the 2016-17 summer.

Full details of the 2016-17 program for all Princess ships will be released in March, with the program on sale in April.
