Travel Agents get a taste of Central America in Australia

Travel Agents were treated to authentic Cuban spices, Mexican tequila and they explored the jungles of Belize without even leaving their home cities.

Although nothing quite tops a trip to Central America, G Adventures found a way to bring the popular region to Australia with its latest run of microfamils in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

Microfamils are designed to educate Agents on the Small Group Tour operator’s trips in Central America as well as the unique experiences available through G Adventures style of travel. Taking them outside the traditional training presentation and offering a hands-on learning experience.

Central America expert and CEO (Chief Experience Officer), Ronny Alvarado, was on hand to guide over 30 consultants around their own cities, sharing insights into his home country of Costa Rica and G Adventures’ various styles of travel that are available in other countries such as Cuba, Mexico, Guatemala and Belize.

The groups of ‘travellers’, which were made up of STA, Helloworld agents and Travel Managers, explored each city with Central American highlights in mind. Sydney-based Agents discovered the jungles of Belize (better known as Cockatoo Island), those in Melbourne were treated to an afternoon sailing in Cuba (or, Albert Park) and Perth consultants enjoyed a tequila tasting masterclass.

“I have to say that after spending a simple day out with the guys from G Adventures I feel more equipped to suggest and sell them.”
