Azamara Journey and Quest’s future sister is currently sailing for the cruise line’s biggest competitor, Carnival Corporation as Adonia – you may remember her as the history-making cruise ship, which first sailed to Cuba after former US President, Barack Obama, eased travel restrictions between the Caribbean island nation and North America.

As per usual ship exchange, Adonia will undergo a major makeover, which will include updated decor to match her sisters. She’ll then emerge from the shipyard in March 2018 as Azamara Pursuit.

“Our loyal guests and travel partners have asked for this expansion for a long time; we are very pleased to deliver this to them.”

Larry Pimentel, Azamara Club Cruises President & CEO

Information about deployment and itineraries for the new vessel will be available in October.

The announcement comes a day after Carnival’s Cunard brand announced plans to add a newbuild Queen to its fleet.
