Kids (big & small) will go loco for the youth centres on Brisbane's new cruise ship, Sea Princess

There's a treat for cruisers of all ages on the newly renovated Sea Princess, but both kids and the parentals will fall so hard for the new youth centres that they'll do anything to stay on board.

There’s a treat for cruisers of all ages on the newly renovated Sea Princess, but both kids and the parentals will fall so hard for the new youth centres that they’ll do anything to stay on board.

Maybe even try stowing themselves away (we don’t recommend anyone actually does that BTW).

But ’tis true, Princess Cruises’ Sea Princess arrived in Brisbane over the weekend for her inaugural home-base in the city with a multi-million dollar new look.

She was plucked, tucked and stuffed with fresh new features that the cruise line’s AU boss says will please guests boarding from her new home.

KarryOn was lucky enough to be among the first to walk through new recently refurbished halls and we gotta say, children and their parents are going to go loco (the reason for the use of a Spanish word will become clear shortly) over the youth centre.

Princess Cruises

First the parents. A place to leave the kids while you go enjoy the specialty restaurants, cocktails and entertainment – LOVE IT!

For the kids, they’ll be allocated to one of three rooms – The Lodge, The Treehouse and Beachouse – based on their ages (as per any other cruise line youth centre).

Princess Cruises Sea Princess The Tree House

‘The Lodge’ is for the younger crowd and is inspired by the American wilderness. It has educational games and open play areas as well as TV screens.

Inside the Costa Rica-inspired (ayyyy loco) ‘Tree House’, three to seven years old can take part in card games, put their hand steadiness skills to the test with Jenga or play around in the cubby house.

Meanwhile, teens can hang until 1.00am inside ‘The Beach House’, which was described as one large ‘smart phone’ with its computer games, TV screens, fooseball and board games.

Outside the kids areas, all cruisers will appreciate the pool deck’s grand ‘Movies Under the Stars’ screen with extreme wide-angel and advanced outdoor light sensors. They’ll also never want to leave the specially-designed Princess Luxury Bed inside all cabins.

Princess Cruises Sea Princess The Voice

PLUS, they’ll keep highly entertained with the ultimate version of Karaoke at sea called ‘The Voice of the Ocean’. You read correctly, it is ‘The Voice’ and yes, those awesome swivelling chairs are onboard, which means, you can have your very own Christina Aguilera moment like… ME!
