P&O Cruises recently added two new ships to their fleet with the launch of the Pacific Aria and Pacific Eden, designed for guests in search of a more luxurious cruise experience without the extravagant price tag.

With the addition of Pacific Eden, P&O will take modern Australian cruising to the next level with stunning new features including 15 dining options, a plush private dining room, a spectacular spa, luxe new bars, a resort-style pool deck, a child-free Oasis with private cabanas and some of the most spacious rooms across the fleet.

The ship can accommodate up to 1500 passengers, has 9 decks, and is 719 feet of pure splendour & comfort.

Pacific Eden will be christened by actress Kate Ritchie in a dual naming ceremony on Sydney Harbour on November 25 with sister ship Pacific Aria, which will be named by singer Jessica Mauboy. The ceremony will be a key part of P&O Cruises’ Five Ship Spectacular which will see its entire five-ship fleet meet in Sydney for the first time for a day of celebrations.

Over the weekend P&O hosted 850 travel industry guests from around the country onboard Pacific Eden, to familiarise themselves with their new floating oasis.

During the course of the weekend P&O helped to acquaint the travel industry with Pacific Eden by holding an interactive orienteering exercise where industry partners would collect an MP3 player from their rooms upon arrival, which then guided them around 10 key locations throughout the ship.

At each location a representative of P&O would then offer more insight as to what that particular area had to offer. You could then give the representative a ‘Blue token’ and make your way to the next location, or take a selfie, upload it to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and ‘Hashtag’ #EdenAria2015 to be able to enter a second ‘Red token’ thus doubling your chances to win an array of fantastic prizes. Obviously #EdenAria2015 was a highlight on social media throughout the event.

The evening was definitely the highlight of the weekend where all 850 guests were treated to a 3 course dining extravaganza at either two of Eden’s more exclusive restaurants. The Dragon Lady an evocative Oriental dining experience with dark timbers and moody lighting complementing its modern Pan-Asian cuisine, or; Angelo’s taking its design inspiration from Angelo Frontoni, one of Italy’s best-known photographers, offering a modern and upscale taste of la dolce vita.

Dinner was followed by their newly arranged theatre performance named Sideshow Alley; an excitingly dark and mysterious stage show held in the Marquee Theatre. Guests then dressed from head to toe in white and danced the night away at the Bianco Party on the main pool deck which really was a fabulous way to end a rather spectacular soiree. For the more vigorous of partygoers, an after party was held at the Dome night club until the small hours of the morning.

The morning after all guests were invited to breakfast at the Pantry, an interactive dining experience with stylish, individual outlets offering a range of contemporary Australian and international cuisine.

Pacific Eden is set to become a familiar figure in the west, with the boutique ship cruising from Fremantle for a season in 2016 and again in 2017. After making her maiden voyage on Sunday, Pacific Eden will return in April 2016 to offer her first season of 16 cruises, which will include short breaks to Margaret River and Esperance and longer itineraries to Indonesia.

The ship will be homeported in Fremantle again from April to June 2017, offering 10 cruises including a new nine-night itinerary featuring P&O Cruises’ first foray into scenic cruising along the Kimberley coastline.
