It’s the new cruise brand promising to make river cruising cool enough for younger travellers and its itineraries are now officially on sale.

U by Uniworld went on sale last week with nine European trips offering 21-45 year olds access to a “fresh approach to experiential travel”.

The younger off-shoot of the luxurious Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection has packed its trips with quintessential millennial desires such as onboard mixology classes, plenty of time to meet and hang out with locals and try authentic food. Plus there’s guided bike tours of top historical sites, adventure activities through UNESCO World Heritage Sites and much more.

According to Uniworld Australia’s Managing Director, Fiona Dalton, the brand has received positive feedback over the last three months, which has “translated into a pent-up demand for bookings.”

“We’re very excited to ‘open the doors’ and get sales underway.”

U by Uniworld’s first cruises will set off in April next year on board two renovated Uniworld vessels – River Baroness and River Ambassador – which will be renamed to The A and The B.

Each ship will have black exteriors and feature a sleek, cool interior design with open communal spaces and rooftop lounges.

There’ll be a maximum capacity of 120 guests per vessel in three room categories — Studio, Balcony and Suites — all with river views.

Yeah! We like…

Suites featuring French balconies and a living room area are ideal for honeymooners and those celebrating a special occasion, whilst balcony rooms cater for pairs, and groups of friends travelling together can enjoy Studio rooms that can accommodate up to three passengers.

Solo travellers can take advantage of single rooms or special room share rates.

So far, the brand has four eight-day itineraries including the Rolling On The Rhine, Germany’s Finest, The Danube Flow and The Seine Experience, which sail the Rhine, Main, Danube and Seine Rivers, with overnight stops and longer stays in major cities like Paris, Vienna, Amsterdam and Budapest.

There’s also three Super Cruise options combine two or more U itineraries into one 15 or 22-day bucket list journey, or there’s two five-day holiday itineraries – Dashing Through The Danube and A Merry Little Christmas Cruise – for those who want to experience the magic of Christmas time in Europe and a special New Year’s Eve celebration.
