Fairy Godmothers are too traditional for a game-changing cruise brand like U by Uniworld, which has opted to give its vessels Guardian Angels, known for their contributions towards positive changes in the world.

While most cruise lines tend to choose well-known representatives to create hype around their new vessels, U by Uniworld has selected someone who will inspire its guests to help make a difference.

The first U by Uniworld Guardian Angel will be Petra Nemcova, a model and noted philanthropist who established her own non-for-profit organisation over a decade ago.

Nemcova will ‘watch over’ the line’s first vessel called The B, which will set sail in October this year.

As part of her Guardian Angel duties, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel will join five 21-45 year old Australian Travel Agents on the brand’s first invitation-only trip called the ‘Sneak Peek’.

U by Uniworld will also support Nemcova’s foundation called the Happy Hearts Fund, which was established in 2004 after her harrowing experience in the Indian Ocean tsunami. The non-for-profit organisation provides funding to rebuild safe, resilient schools in areas impacted by natural disasters. It is now active in 10 countries around the world and has helped rebuild more than 160 schools and assisted nearly 100,000 students in getting back to school following natural disasters.

Uniworld Australia’s Managing Director, Fiona Dalton, said appointing a Guardian Angel is a concept that “will make history” and proves U by Uniworld is a game-changer.

Travel Agents have the chance to join Nemcova on the ‘Sneak Peek’ sailing from Paris to Paris. To be in the running, consultants must create and post a 30 second video to the U by Uniworld Facebook page sharing how they are going to sell U, tagging #ImGonnaSellU to their post.
