Some sang their hearts out, others drew attention with ginormous sun glasses and crazy wigs. There were a few that plucked the strings of their guitars while others remained cool with a glass of wine.
Travel Agents went all out to prove they have what it takes to be a ‘STAR’ for Visit California and become the face of the tourist board’s new digital training platform.
They were given a couple of a months to submit a short video with their number one tip for visiting California before the judged culled some 500 entries down to 25 finalists.
From there, fellow Travel Agents spent two weeks voting for their favourite entry, which brings us to the five winners.
These people received the most votes in one of five categories – culinary, outdoor, entertainment, luxury and family.
And they are…

– Kristen Delugar, Best Travel House, Hastings NZ – Family
– Adam Townson Luxury Escapes – Luxury
– Cassandra Nieling, Infinity Holidays – Outdoor
Each of these five Travel Agents is now a California Super STAR – congratulations guys!
They have the sole (maybe not sole) responsibility of promoting their individual pillar on California STAR for 2017/18.
But more importantly, they will travel to California during the second half of the year on a VIP Fam where they will record travel tips for future incorporation into one of the California STAR training modules.
