Some four people have been confirmed dead in heavy flooding caused by Tropical Cyclone Jose in the popular tourist town of Nadi in Fiji over the weekened.
The island experienced heavy rainfall and strong winds on Saturday, which was followed by flooding waters, 9News reported.
Police confirmed to media that five people were swept away in floods, and so far four bodies have been located.

Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) continues to advise Australians in Fiji to exercise normal safety precautions.
Meanwhile, local authorities have advised that road connecting to the city centre have been closed as flooding clears and locals can expect power outages.

Fiji’s tourism leaders are yet to issue a statement on the situation, and the tourism board’s social media pages continue to promote travel to the destination.
