Fiji, the real winner on 'The Bachelorette' finale

Before we get started let's quickly clarify that I am not a fan of 'The Bachelorette' or its male counter-series. I'd rather run a marathon than watch an episode, and I don't run. Ever.

Before we get started let’s quickly clarify that I am not a fan of ‘The Bachelorette’ or its male counter-series. I’d rather run a marathon than watch an episode, and I don’t run. Ever.

But my boss said a story on last night’s finale will make our readers happy, so here I am.

For those of you who missed the last episode of season three, during which musician, actress and all-round cool human being, Sophie Monk, made her blatantly obvious selection (also dubbed by several ‘Bachelorette’ fanatics in the KarryOn office as “the least surprising pick in the show’s history”), count your blessings.

If you’re planning to watch it then you may want to close your KarryOn screen now and pretty much stay off the Internet because spoilers are everywhere.

Around 10 minutes into the snooze-fest, oh sorry, incredibly stimulating episode…

… my eyes drifted (literally searching for anything to keep me occupied) from Sophie and her ‘suitors’ to the real highlight of the episode… Fiji.

The island nation stole the show with its natural beauty (which we know will last forever) and one-of-a-kind romantic setting.

Just look at that gorgeous backdrop…

The destination was exposed to millions of Aussies around the country (a record number of viewed turned in for the series finale), which will no doubt translate into holiday bookings among fans.

For those wanting to recreate the stunning grand finale with their own suitor, the episode was shot in the five-star Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay – a resort featuring over water lagoons, high-end luxury and service, an infinity pool and three on-site restaurants.

If that wasn’t enticing enough, the property also has a poolside cocktail bar, where you can literally swim-up, order and drink without stepping out of the water.

KarryOn has contacted Fiji Tourism to see how the office felt about its feature in last night’s episode, but in the meantime our very own The Bachelorette junkie, Haley Janssens said even she found herself captured by the beauty of Fiji.

“Sadly, Sophie’s options were a little dull (no really, how did Jarrod make it to the finale?), but at least the location was divine.”

Haley Janssens, KarryOn Partnerships Manager
