Jennifer Aniston, Bradley Cooper and Elvis – Hawaii has attracted Hollywood’s elite over decades and last night Sydney got a taste of the iconic ‘Blue Hawaii’ cocktail at a glitzy event at Hilton’s Marble Bar.

Last night The Hilton Worldwide Portfolio of Hotels and Resorts in Hawaii, along with Hawaiian Airlines, Hawaii Tourism Oceania and Oahu Visitor Bureau invited media to a night celebrating Hollywood in Hawaii.

Hosted at Hilton’s Marble Bar guests were treated to an array of island-inspired dishes prepared by Hilton Hawaiian Village’s Executive Chef, Charles Charbonneau.

Famously, Hawaii has been a popular movie destination since the 1930s which has helped Hawaii to gain worldwide fame and showcase the destination.

With its majestic mountains and sky blue mountains the beautiful islands have been forming  picture perfect backdrops for 130 movies and 160 TV-shows.

This year the two blockbusters ‘Aloha’ and ‘Jurassic World’ has yet again put Hawaii on the world-map and showcased the diversity of the beautiful landscape.

“In 2015, from January to May has demonstrated a 13%  increase and even more exciting is that more people are now starting to go over to the neighbour islands which is something we are hoping to continue to grow”

Janaya Birse, Public Relations Manager, Hawaii Tourism Oceania

Representatives from The Hilton Worldwide Portfolio of Hotels and Resorts in Hawaii weren’t put off by the cooler Sydney climate and were excited to again be back in Australia to meet with media and to talk about new updates across the Hawaii properties.

“Australian is such an important market for Hawaii and we are excited to announce new premium properties in 2015”

Cynthia Rankin, Regional Director Corporate Communications, Hilton Hawaii
