It's here! Universal's 'Fast & Furious' ride shifts into gear

Stars of the 'Fast & Furious' gathered at Universal Studios Hollywood overnight to officially launch the highly anticipated thrill ride based on the hit movie franchise.

Stars of the ‘Fast & Furious’ gathered at Universal Studios Hollywood overnight to officially launch the highly anticipated thrill ride based on the hit movie franchise.

Vin Diesel joined by fellow cast members Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Jason Statham cut the ribbon using jumbo scissors and shared a few thoughts before breaking in the new ‘Fast & Furious—Supercharged‘ ride.

The ride debuts as the grand finale to the world famous Studio Tour.

Fast & Furious 6

Using special effects and a state-of-the-art 3D audio system, the hydraulic motion-based ride tells an original Fast & Furious story.

Cast members from the series including Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Luke Evans appear throughout the ride as guests are taken into the high-stakes underground world of street racing at perceived speeds of 190 kms per hour.

‘Fast & Furious—Supercharged’ spans over 120 metres in length to encircle Studio Tour guests within a newly constructed 6,000 sqm structure on the legendary backlot, the sprawling custom-built screen employs 34, 4K projectors and a specially configured projection system to envelop guests in unprecedented realism.

After experiencing ‘Fast & Furious—Supercharged’, Vin Diesel reacted by saying it was unlike anything he’d ever seen.
