Oh Mickey! 3 Disneyland wonders you can experience during the Diamond Celebrations

"Look at this stuff! Isn't it neat?" - you'll sound a lot like that ambitious Little Mermaid wondering around Disneyland Resort in California during its 60 year celebrations.

“Look at this stuff! Isn’t it neat?” – you’ll sound a lot like that ambitious Little Mermaid wondering around Disneyland Resort in California during its 60 year celebrations.

Everybody will look left and everybody will look right’ while feeling absolutely ‘hakuna matata’ as they stroll through the magic and ‘treasures untold’ that can only be experienced during the Diamond Celebration.

In addition to the usual ‘shining, shimmering [and] splendid’ treats (the Anna and Elsa welcome, King Triton’s Carousel, Ariel’s Undersea Adventure and more), the anniversary has seen a number of new limited time attractions rolled out, turning the Park into a ‘Never Land waiting for you, where all your happy dreams come true’.

So if  ‘you’ve got a dream’ to get the ultimate Disney experience, here are three things you can only experience at the Disneyland Resort during the Diamond Jubilee:

1. Paint the Night – the most colourful event… EVER!

Paint the Night

‘In the dark of the night’, Disney’s park illuminates with 1.5 million LED lights, your favourite characters and a whole lot of vivid imagination.

It’s actually one of the most amazing things you’ll ever see at night and THE MOST vibrant parade in all of Disney’s history.

Adults, kids and even the teens will get a kick out of the dazzling special effects, unforgettable music, energetic performances, fun surprises and spectacular floats.

The entire street parade of giant bass drums, floats and electric lights is led by the magical Tinker Bell. She’s followed by Lightning McQueen, who races in with his buddy Mack Truck.

The highlights of the event are the Disney sisters, Anna and Elsa from “Frozen”, who glide through the night in a shimmering palace of ice and snow.

Guests will also be able to spot Cinderella, Rapunzel along with other beloved characters from tales such as ‘Monsters, Inc.,’; ‘The Little Mermaid’; ‘Beauty and the Beast’; and ‘Toy Story’. Of course,  Mickey and his pals will be there too for the breathtaking grand finale.

2. Disneyland Forever – a fireworks display you won’t EVER forget

Go from Simba’s Pride Lands to dancing with King Louie with just a flick of a switch and a whole new immersive fireworks display.

Disneyland Forever presented by Honda is unlike anything the Park has presented before.

Guests will be surrounded by the worlds of timeless Disney tales, from the tips of their toes to the sky high above, thanks to the largest installation of projection mapping technology in a Disney park and surprising special effects.

One minute they will be standing on Main Street, U.S.A., and the next they could be traveling “Under the Sea” with the Little Mermaid or flying over London with Peter Pan.

For the first time in Disneyland fireworks history, Nemo from the Disney●Pixar animated film ‘Finding Nemo,’ will “just keep swimming” in the skies above Sleeping Beauty Castle, as the Matterhorn is transformed into the fiery peak of Mt. Wannahockaloogie, a special monument from that film.

Two original songs enrich the show: the “Disneyland Forever” theme “Live the Magic,” and the inspiring closing song “A Kiss Goodnight,” written by another Disney Legend, Richard M. Sherman, and sung by Ashley Brown, star of the Broadway production of “Mary Poppins.”
