Flight Centre's new HQ features a massive slip 'n slide

Forget about waiting for elevators and walking out the building, Flight Centre's head office employees will be able to slide down from their offices at the end of every work day.

Forget about waiting for elevators and walking out the building, Flight Centre’s head office employees will be able to slide down from their offices at the end of every work day.

Well, that would be the case if this wasn’t an April Fools joke.

The travel group managed to trick at least one person in the KarryOn office this morning when it revealed details of its new headquarters, which included a rendering of an epic slide running along the outside of the building.

In the Flight Centre prank published to its online blog, the group said it had submitted the revised plans to Brisbane City Council and was keen to get the 15-storey slide wrapped around the base. #KeepDreaming #WeAreDreamingForYou

Although a little excessive, the story was somewhat believable because of the company’s public fondness for slides, particularly the water ones.

Other details of the #YouWishBuilding included large-scale trampolines on each level so staff could propel themselves between floors.

“It will take a bit of re-jigging of the floor plan to make it work, but we see it as a necessary addition for workplace happiness, although health and safety regulations state we can’t allow people to use the trampolines when descending between floors.”

Do you think Flight Centre should just go ahead and sneak a slide on the outside of its HQ?
