Camping in Africa instantly conjures up a scene from Jumanji where you're surrounded by gorgeous, wild animals ready to run through your camp.

Camping in Africa instantly conjures up a scene from Jumanji where you’re surrounded by gorgeous, wild animals ready to run through your camp.

Thankfully, KARRYON was reassured that’s not the case, although Africa – especially countries such as Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe – is the place to go if you’re up for unique and safely-distanced encounters with animals.

Like for example, brunch with a view of elephants in their natural habitat.

That’s the experience Beks Ndlovu CEO & Safari Guide of African Bush Camps says his guests receive when they spend a couple of night at his properties.

Here are a few others:

1) Linyanti Bush Camp in Botswana

In the northern part of Botswana, the range of wildlife is one to be seen. Due to water being available in the dry months, it attracts unbelievable bird life and animals of all sorts to the area making this camp the place to stay. The best times to visit are during the dry season (May to October).

2) Thorntree River Lodge in Zambia

Located near the UNESCO World Heritage site Victoria Falls, this lodge is authentic Africa set in Zambia’s Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park. Here you can go Rhino trekking on foot, sunset river cruises on a private boat and of course visits to Victoria Falls.

3) Kanga Camp in Zimbabwe

Popular location for wildlife and Safari enthusiasts, this camp is situated in the only known water source area that is available throughout the year. Lions, Elephants and Hyenas at your doorstep.

The great news is, Australian travellers have doubled in the past year in visiting the camps.
