Called the ‘Ambassador Lagoon’, it’s located within Atlantis, The Palm, a nautically-themed luxury hotel in Dubai.

As with any aquarium, the Ambassador Lagoon is available for snorkeling or trekking sessions. These activities are, unsurprisingly, fairly popular among guests, which is why the property has decided to take its Lagoon offering one step further.

During Dubai’s summer season, Atlantis, The Palm will offer travellers the chance to take an AquaTrek by Night, which will allow them to walk among some 220 different species in the dark.

Each night journey will take 30 minutes, with guests wearing specially designed helmet that supply air and are fitted with a tri-view lens allowing clean, undistorted views through the flat front, left and right panels.

According to the property, trekkers will be “amazed by the brilliant colours of the schooling fish and illuminated eyes of the marine predators as they pass by the beams of an underwater torch”.

The activity is open to travellers from 8 to 80 years of age with or without diving experience and starts from 650AED (around AU$225) and includes all equipment, a towel, wetsuit, boots and bottled water.

Would you be up for an underwater experience at night in a hotel?
