Get ready for more Carlson Rezidor rooms

One of the world’s largest hotel groups says it’s ready to commit to Australasia, particularly Australia by bringing its full portfolio to the market.

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, which is the parent company for brands like Park Plaza, Radisson and Park Inn, said it has major expansion plans for the region, which will include introducing three new brands locally.

Speaking at the HotelsWorld 2015 conference this week, President of Asia Pacific, Thorsten Kirschke said to meet demand for more rooms in in Australia, the group will roll out Radisson Red®, Park Inn® by Radisson and Country Inns & Suites By CarlsonSM brands.

These will be in addition to the current Radisson Blu Hotel Sydney and Radisson Suites Sydney, Radisson on Flagstaff Gardens Melbourne and Radisson Blu Fiji Denarau Island in Australasia already operating in the region.

Expansion plans start with the redesign of the current five star Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Sydney.

The property will receive meeting and conference rooms due to be unveiled in late August. This will be followed by the re-design of all 364 accommodation rooms.

Following the refurbishment, the company will look at locations for the new brands. Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Gold Coast Melbourne, Perth and Sydney are being considered for the arty Radisson Red hotel concept.

Regional centres of Australia and New Zealand will be considered for the Country Inns & Suites By CarlsonSM – an upper mid-scale hotel brand.
