Wrap your head around that!

Fast forward 30 years later and The Sunshine Coast Council is ready to give southern Queensland new life by approving development for the Badderam Eco-Luxe Resort & Spa.

The Sunshine Coast Hotel 2

The 5-star property is scheduled to open in 2020, the same year as the Sunshine Coast’s new international airport, and will be located in Buderim, offering visitors a bushland setting on an ancient volcanic mountain 10 minutes away from the Sunshine Coast’s beaches.

Owners said the property will distinguish itself in the region by reflecting a combination of Australia’s Indigenous culture and state-of-the-art environmental initiative. It will be built with a 6-star ‘Green Star’ building rating and will aim to be Queensland’s first zero-waste eco-resort.

“Together with the game changing Sunshine Coast Airport project, Badderam will assist in providing the five-star accommodation and facilities that domestic and international visitors are seeking.”
