Queensland's first winery glamping experience & it's as beautiful as it sounds

One thing almost everyone loves ? is being combined with one thing some people love and others are growing to appreciate ⛺ to create a unique overnight stay.

It’s Queensland’s first winery glamping experience called ‘Sanctuary by Sirromet’, which will welcome its first guests on the grounds of Sirromet Wines on 1 June.

Much like it sounds, the new accommodation venture creates an opportunity for guests to get blind drunk on the Sirromet wines before passing out in their nearby tent.

JOKES! It’s a little more sophisticated than that.

Phase 1 of the winery glamping experience allows visitors to book one of 18 “superbly appointed tented pavilions” comprising of 15 couples’ tents, two for families and one fitted out as a bridal suite.

Inside, each tent features king beds, bedside tables and lamps, reverse cycle air-conditioning, two large day chairs a well-stocked mini-bar, an en-suite bathroom, free wi-fi and hair dryers.

OH and each pavilion also comes with a private floating balcony where visitors can enjoy a glass of wine while they observe the local landscape and wildlife such as kookaburras, monitor lizards and owls.

Sirromet Wines owner, Terry Morris, said the aim of the winery glamping experience was to create unique accommodation that is “both in keeping with the natural surroundings while offering that extra level of comfort”.

For now, the property only has 18 tents available but has approval to open 54 sites over a 20-acre expanse over the next year.

“We are concentrating on the first 18 sites for now to ensure the product offering is perfected for our guests before we start planning further sites,” said General Manager, Rod Hill.
