If you like stylish designs mixed in with fun and unique offerings then apparently Starwood's new Sydney property is made for you.

If you like stylish designs mixed in with fun and unique offerings then apparently Starwood’s new Sydney property is made for you.

The hotel brand announced it is bringing its Aloft brand to Sydney next year to offer travellers a new ‘dynamic option’ in accommodation.

Set to open in November 2016, the hotel will be located at 302 Pitt Street, replacing the city’s Druids House building.

Aloft in Sydney 2

Local designer, Carmen Glenister and Sydney-based architects, Scott Carver, have been recruited to transform the property into what Starwood expects to be a ‘state-of-the-art’ hotel.

Inside, the building will retain elements of its historic ‘1909’ designs while showcasing modern style.

Here’s what else you and your clients can expect:

The rooms

All 136 rooms will feature spacious loft-like guest rooms with signature Aloft amenities such as walk-in showers, complimentary bottled water, signature coffee, plush bedding and more.

Guests will also have access to fast and free wireless Internet throughout the hotel.

The 42” flat-screen TV will have a plug-and-play connectivity, allowing guests to connect their own electrical devices.

Public spaces

The hotel’s ground floor will be designed to offer a ‘mix and mingle’ space.

Travellers on-the-go can pick up something to eat ar the 24 hour gourmet food and beverage area.

And after hours, in-house guests and locals alike can grab a cocktail and catch the latest up-and-coming music acts as part of the brand’s signature Live At Aloft Hotels music series in the signature SM bar, which extends into an outdoor “Backyard” – a place where music, cocktails and fun flow freely.

Tech-smart

Travellers won’t need to worry about carrying room keys around, because Aloft is bringing its ‘SPG Keyless’ technology to Sydney.

As hospitality’s first mobile, keyless entry system, it allows guests to use their smart phone as a key.

Location, location, location

Another highlight of the property is its location.

Located on Pitt Street, it is close to Martin Place – the city’s business center – and transportation network such as trains and buses.

It will also be in the centre of ‘Koreatown’, which offers young, fashionable set seeking extensive and varied dining, shopping and entertainment options.

Popular Hyde Park is close by as well as is Pitt Street Mall and George Street’s Event Cinema.

“The hotel’s ideal location will make it very attractive to travelers already drawn to the brand’s distinctive energetic social atmosphere, innovative initiatives, and modern style that is different by design.”

Sean Hunt, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Pacific Regional Vice President

The signing of Aloft Sydney Pitt Street follows last year’s announcement of Aloft Perth Rivervale, slated to open in early 2017.

Both Australian Aloft properties add to the global growth and buzz for the brand, with 100 hotels worldwide and growing since launching in 2005.

Aloft Sydney Pitt Street will join Starwood’s robust portfolio in Australia, which currently comprises 10 operating hotels across the country.

The Westin Perth and W Brisbane are scheduled to open in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
