Staying at the Chifley in Adelaide is like being in old-school Los Angeles, but without ever actually leaving Australia.

Staying at the Chifley in Adelaide is like being in old-school Los Angeles, but without ever actually leaving Australia.

The hotel recently underwent a $500,000 revamp to evoke a new distinctive style inspired by the iconic Beverly Hills Hotels.

And so far it seems, guests are loving it!

Having re-opened to the public this month, visitors have had nothing but positive feedback for the many changes, including the refreshed lobby, which features retro shades of pink and avocado on the couches and flooring.

A fave among guests are the pops of banana leaf fabric on chairs and ottomans in the welcoming area, along with the clever use of black and white on the floors and ceilings complete the look. The original stone wall and fireplace now serves as a major feature in the lobby space, framed by stylish banana leaf armchairs and striking, 60’s inspired light fixtures.

The property’s Parkview conference room was also transformed into a sophisticated space with the capacity to hold 50 people in theatre style or for 20 people in a boardroom configuration. It is located off the refurbished breakfast room, which now features darker colours and textures in keeping with the design inspiration.

Located just minutes from Adelaide Central Market, Victoria Square and South Parklands, the hotel is very popular and will now be on Adelaide’s most stylish list thanks to this retro-glam makeover.
