Club Med sets its sights on happy couples

Club Med is chasing the lucrative wedding market, with the launch of a new dedicated all-inclusive destination wedding package to the trade market.

The announcement comes after seeing a 30 percent growth in the number of loved-up Aussie couples tying the knot in tropical destinations such as Bali.

Teaming up with wedding provider, SE7EN, the packages aim to make planning an international wedding as smooth as possibly by covering everything from a dedicated wedding planner, a honeymoon, private dinners and more.

Brendon King, Club Med’s Meetings and Events Manager, said the company is always looking to evolve its product and found destination wedding to be a great opportunity to help couples organise a hassle-free holiday.

So what’s included in the wedding packages?

Initially they’re launching in three of the company’s most popular resorts – Club Med Bali, Indonesia, Club Med Kani, and the Club Med Finolhu Villas, both in the Maldives, with more to come in future.

Club Med Bali provides couples with an accessible destination close to home; Club Med Kani provides a lively island vibe in a dream destination; and the Club Med Finolhu Villas are the ultimate in luxury – the perfect destination to celebrate a wedding and subsequent honeymoon.

Along with all-inclusive offering, the company has collaborated with the SE7EN Agency to create fixed price wedding packages, which allow couples to customize their wedding package to suit their unique needs for both the ceremony and reception. In addition, the wedding packages allow for additional services to be added, including cocktail parties and private dinners both in-resort or outside (co-ordinated by the SE7EN Agency).

And why should Agents consider selling them to their clients?

Aside from making life easier for their clients, they’re fully commissionable. Agents can make money on almost everything from from flights to the all-inclusive package to the wedding ceremony.

Club Med’s wedding packages launch exclusively to travel agents, with a wider consumer launch to follow in December.
