Travel Agents felt the romantic rhythms of Latin America, tasted the rich spices of Asia and witnessed the discipline of Russia without stepping foot outside of Australia.

Helloworld Travel brought the world to Hobart on Thursday night to kick off the group’s annual Frontliners Conference with a very culture-inspired welcome function.

Held at the waterfront Wrest Point Hotel, some 600 consultants and their closest suppliers had spectacular views of the Apple Isle’s vast blue ocean while dining and dancing to international treats.

A local Colombian band kept the crowd tapping at their tables (and even a few managed to sneak up to the dance floor) with ebullient Cumbia tunes.

A Russian father/son acrobatic duo practically had jaws hanging on the floor with unimaginable stretching abilities, while a pair of Indian dancers left everyone in awe of the colours and traditional movements.

Hobart lived up to its reputation as one of Australia’s food capitals with a variety of mouth-watering international cuisine, from handmade pizzas, tacos, Singaporean noodles and more.

Although it may have only been the first night of a three-day conference, one Travel Agent was lucky enough to walk away with an eight-day cruise to Croatia courtesy of Intrepid Travel.
