FLIGHT CENTRE GOES INTO SHOW BUSINESS, DEBUTS A TRAVEL SHOW ON CHANNEL 10

From traditional agencies, to holiday websites, DMCs, hotel management, home-based consultancy and now, it's show business for the Flight Centre Travel Group.

From traditional agencies, to holiday websites, DMCs, hotel management, home-based consultancy and now, it’s show business for the Flight Centre Travel Group.

The company made its TV debut on Channel 10 over the weekend with an in-house produced, filmed and hosted travel series called, ‘The 48 Hour Destination’.

As the title suggests, the 13-episode series shows travellers how to spend two days in some of the world’s most exciting destinations including San Francisco, Vancouver, Phuket, Hong Kong, Queenstown, London, Los Angeles, Cape Town, Northern Territory, Dubai, New York and Auckland.

However, as a product developed completely by a travel group with a large interest in traditional retail outlets, the series also focuses on encouraging travellers to book through a consultant.

This underlying message to use an Agent is pushed through the show’s host, Greer Gardiner, who is a real consultant meeting fellow Flight Centre Travel Agents in each destination.

Flight Centre Travel Group’s Head of Creative Studio, Luke Wheatley, said the company ‘is proud’ of the final product.

This is a truly integrated marketing approach working together across brand, product, creative and content to bring this to life.”
