Emotions were triggered at last night’s Helloworld’s thank you party in Sydney where the industry came together to toast relationships past and present.
Helloworld Travel held an exclusive thank you party last night in Sydney for all of its industry partners who the group say “have supported them throughout recent years”.
The night was officially a celebration of the group’s partnerships with Airlines, Wholesalers, Tours and Attraction who were represented and thanked by the senior management team of Helloworld Travel.
Chief Executive, Andrew Burnes shared that January had been a very good month from a booking perspective. Mr Burnes went on to introduce his new Group General Manager of Retail and Commercial of Helloworld Travel, John Constable who starts in the role on Monday and advised invited guests that he “was looking forward to working with the entire group to continue to drive success.”
Supplier Partners travelled from overseas and interstate to Sydney specifically for the event and enjoyed a glorious Sydney evening and sunset at Doltone House.
With all brands under Helloworld Travel Limited represented on the night, exchanging industry stories aplenty, it was Andrew Burnes that shared his emotions and story about the recently departed Barry Matters, who held the position at APT as General Manager for over 20 years.
“I need to find the words…. to drink a toast in memory of someone, who was a great partner in our businesses and a great bloke actually,”
Andrew Burnes, CEO, Helloworld Travel Group
Silence flooded the room along with a nod of respect.
Mr Burnes continued to thank guests in his speech saying that he was;
“Really impressed by how our team at Helloworld Travel and all of your teams partner up and work together”.
The Magellan network buyout was also brought up by Mr Burnes in his speech, with certain media outlets copping some flak for incorrect reporting, but let’s save that for when we get the real facts. One day.
