Magellan agents have earned these bonuses

Magellan Travel Group joins Air New Zealand, Fiji Airways and Qantas as the latest travel company to reward its hard working staff with a portion of the company's record profits.

Magellan Travel Group joins Air New Zealand, Fiji Airways and Qantas as the latest travel company to reward its hard working staff with a portion of the company’s record profits.

This morning, the agency group revealed it had achieved a huge 48 percent increase in profits over the 12 months to June 2015.

In total, the group walked away with $8.8 million in profits – the highest record profit in the company’s history and $800,000 more than the company expected to earn.

CEO Andrew Macfarlene attributed the huge profit to the group’s network of agents, which grew by 22 members over the year.

“This [increase in profit] demonstrates that Magellan Agents are bucking the industry trend and achieving growth despite the adverse market conditions being reported by others.”

Macfarlene verbally thanked Memeber Agents and Preferred Suppliers for their ongoing support before announcing that a portion of the profit will be split and distributed amongst the group’s agents.

“Between now and then [Magellan’s National Conference] we will be distributing the nearly $9 million profit amongst our member Agents.”

Magellan Travel Group was named ‘Best Non-Branded Travel Agency Group’ at the NTIA Awards.

“We look forward to seeing all at our National Conference in Melbourne in a few weeks’ time to celebrate our success and share our future plans.”

In addition to being a financially profitable 12 months for the agency group, the 2014/15 year saw Magellan roll out a range of new initiatives that helped drive up sales.

Among them was the brand makeover, which saw Magellan replace its old logo and website with a new, slicker look.

The new logo uses a simple two-colour system of ‘Blue and ‘Gray’ to promote the group’s new ‘less is more’ concept.

The Group also launched a new consumer and agency protection solution called ‘Book Smart TM‘. The system replaces the old TCF and acts as an insurance system to protect clients money.
