NTIA17 SUCCESS STORIES: HELLOWORLD TRAVEL

What does it take to beat your biggest competitor two years in a row? Try buying four cruise businesses, expanding into home-based consultancy, uniting famils into one epic party and recruiting an Aussie fave celebrity to perform at your conference.

What does it take to beat your biggest competitor two years in a row? Try buying four cruise businesses, expanding into home-based consultancy, uniting famils into one epic party and recruiting an Aussie fave celebrity to perform at your conference.

That’s just a start.

For Helloworld Travel to win Best Travel Agency Group (50 Stores or more) at the NTIAs, it required determination, a plan and a strong network. Julie Primmer, Head of Branded Network, said that’s exactly what the travel group has achieved over the last month.

Read more of what she and David Padman, Head of Corporate, Associate and Affiliate Networks, had to say:

What does winning this award mean to you and the business?

-1

Julie Primmer: Wining this award for the second year running is incredible! It is a testament to the strength and quality of our member networks and what we have achieved as a group. Receiving industry recognition at this level is so important to us and is truly an honour. Our Agents will be so proud, and rightly so, to belong to a network that is held in such high esteem by the industry.

What was it do you think that helped you win this year?

-3

Julie Primmer: We really have a great story to share. Over the past 12 months we have been working hard to create sustainable growth and profitability, with a common objective to optimise the customer experience and stakeholder satisfaction. Whether it be through branding, marketing, technology, developing people and culture or growth strategies, our commitment to improvement has been rock solid. We have hit our goals, we give back to the industry and we are committed to future-proofing our agents and our industry. Also – no other group in Australia offers what we offer, so that’s another great story.

How do you think the year ahead is looking so far?

-4

David Padman: Well now it is looking even better! We are working to consolidate on initiatives already in place and we are seeing positive outcomes as a result. Our member networks are growing and strengthening every day, with new members joining and current members re-signing for multiple terms. We will continue to drive value to our agents through technology, lead generation, great product range, training and business support, ensuring continued improvement for both us and our agents. With the acknowledgement received from within our own industry at the NTIAs, we are certain the year ahead will be a great one for Helloworld Travel overall.

Do you have any award winning tips you’d like to share to inspire other businesses to greatness?

-5

David Padman: As they say, there is great strength in unity and teamwork and we are a terrific example of that. Without our team of members, staff, suppliers, preferred partners and everyone involved and committed to the Helloworld Travel family, we wouldn’t be where we are today.

What do you think about Helloworld Travel’s win? Join us in congratulating them on a job well done.
