Tassie Agents, got a question for AFTA on ATAS? You can ask them in person

Tasmania-based Travel Agents, now's your chance to ask AFTA all those ATAS questions, because the guys from the federation are headed your way.

Tasmania-based Travel Agents, now’s your chance to ask AFTA all those ATAS questions, because the guys from the federation are headed your way.

Jayson Westbury’s team from the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) touched down in the state late last week as part of the second phase of the recently launched partnership with the Tasmanian Government, which aims to spread the ATAS word to consumers.

So far, the two-month long campaign is believed to have reached some 250,000 consumers across Tasmania through local television, radio, newspaper and Google advertising, as well as a TVC that ran during the weekend’s Football Grand Final.

The next phase, which kicked off on Friday, sees AFTA’s team visit ATAS accredited Travel Agents around the state to ensure “members are complying with Australian Consumer Law” and talk them through maximising their accreditation.

“It is also to support agencies in maximising their accreditation by both leveraging the logo in their own marketing initiatives, and to jointly explore new ways that AFTA can cooperatively work with agents to reinforce the ATAS message to Australian travellers and particularly in Tasmania.”

AFTA’s trip is being supported by Avis, which has provided the team with a car to fulfill their scheduled visits in Hobart, Launceston, Devonport, Burnie and Penguin.
